The New Radio Tower is Online!
They were racing the rainy season, and there were a few unexpected delays, but they did it. The new 340 foot FM tower for ELWA Radio is online and broadcasting the Word of God in the Monrovia metropolitan area! When the tower arrived on the campus, the Technical Director of ELWA Radio, Manker Wingbah pressed for immediate construction, because the old tower would simply be too unsafe to climb during or after another wet season, if repairs were needed on the antennae or cables. To wait was to risk having the station off the air for an extended time. God made a way for Alan Shea and Kyle Shropshire to spend extended time in Liberia to work with the local tower company and get the tower up. The new tower is rated to last for 75 more years of Christian broadcasting from ELWA Radio, more than doubling its age so far! It also represents a collaboration with many partners: ELWA Radio and SIM-Liberia could not have brought this project to completion without the participation and support of all the ELWA Ministries in Liberia, EMA-USA, Samaritan’s Purse, Mark Sheppard from Liberia Baptist Mid-Mission, and Kyle’s company L&S Enterprises. To God be the glory, this is His Kingdom at work.
